Frequently Asked Questions

Does my insurance cover physical therapy?

In most instances, yes. At your first visit, we will contact your insurance company, verify your benefits and relay them to you. You will be made aware of what your insurance will cover and how much, if any, will be your responsibility.

What should I expect on my first visit?

Your first visit will be 1 hour long. You will meet with your physical therapist in a private room. The therapist will take your history, evaluate your problem, discuss treatment options and will provide treatment the same day. The evaluation and treatment plan will be sent to your doctor if you were referred by a physician. Remember, you can seek physical therapy care without a referral.

What should I bring with me?

Bring your prescription from the doctor, if you have one, your insurance information and photo ID. Wear or bring with you comfortable clothing that allows access to your injury. On a subsequent visit, if you will be in the pool, bring swimwear, a towel and necessary shower items for after your therapy session. If you take several medications a list that we can copy can be helpful.

What if I have a work injury?

If you are injured on the job, you must see a physician and have a prescription for physical therapy. We will contact your adjuster and check the status of your claim. If it is open, but not yet accepted, we request that you have your private insurance information available. If your claim is denied, you will be responsible for your therapy.

What if I am in a Motor Vehicle Accident?
Provided you have opened a PIP (Personal Injury Protection) claim, you should be covered. Call your insurance company for more information.
What if I am ill?
